So neither of us have been to the dentist in a few years. She has some really bad anxiety about it. So she is really on edge today. I'm off work, but then declined the option. Daughter just got over a strep throat, and now son has it.

I was excited to see this SVX in traffic the other day. I think they are getting rare.

They certainly are getting rare, especially ones in nice condition like that one. It doesn't help that they were fairly rare to begin with. I saw two out on the road one weekend this past summer. They have quite a presence on the road.

Also, good luck to your wife for her root canal.

The dentist could give her Valium if her anxiety is really bad...

Nice find! Always fun to see those things cruising around.

And that pic is like 5 minutes from my house haha

I cannot into dentist. I'm not afraid of needles or going to the doctor but I freak out at the thought of going to the dentist. I go about once every 5 years and even then I have a hard time. Last time I went was 2011 and before that 1999.

In that 12 year stint between 1999 & 2011 I only had 3 minor cavities so screw this going every 6 months bullshit.

Getting rare? Those have been rare since they came out. I don't think I've ever seen one.

I am a dentist. I just finished doing a root canal 5 minutes ago. They are typically pretty easy for the patient unless the tooth is super infected. Sometimes it can be difficult to get a "hot" tooth completely numb until it is opened up. Valium or triazalam work great for nerves. Best of luck to you and your wife!

Thanks for the reply.

I guess it actually took less time than some fillings it seems. But she'll have to get it capped soon or something.

What I didn't mention is that she has a horrible gag reflex and a dentist putting instruments in her mouth and working in there is hard for her to cope with. I was glad I could be with her today to calm her a bit. But our daughter got her first trip to see dentist and she did good.

Some things the dentist mentioned on last visit is a small breathing tube, or throat, 8 cavities & need for a root canal. Dentist thinks wife may be having acid reflux at night and sitting on the teeth overnight.

No offense but seeing a dentist isn't something we look forward to.

I am glad it turned out okay! Some of those sedative medications also help with the gag reflex. I have a bad gag reflex too, so I can definitely relate.
